Calculator Classification Stickers for Examinations

Students in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science can see Rod Berndt at his office (BMH112) during normal business hours to have their calculator assessed and stickered.

Stickers are only available to students enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.

Classification Scheme Upper Limits:

GOLD sticker:
Basic, limited storage (register), with function keys but non-communicating (Casio 991 type)
Note: The Casio 991 (available at the Campus book store) does not need a gold sticker.

RED sticker:
Programmable, with data storage and exchange but non-communicating

Any calculator with communicating capacity is forbidden in the examination halls.

The approved model, Casio 991, does not require a sticker and is available at the Campus Bookstore.

Note: From September 2012 onwards there will be no sticker system for approved calculators. The Casio 991 will be the only calculator approved for engineering exams.
