Rooms

The IL Centre has six large classroom areas, several smaller multi-use rooms, including group rooms for student use, and team spaces for the use of student teams. Classrooms can be booked through the Event Services room reservation system. The multimedia room and the atrium can be booked through the Student Services office (BMH300). Group rooms can be booked on the online group room booking system.

Facility fees for non-academic use

Design Studio
Room 109

  • Capacity: 60
  • Specilized workstations for CAD design projects.
  • Given the specialized workstations in this room, only bookings for engineering design activities will be considered.

Teaching Studio
Room 213

  • Capacity: 76
  • Oval configuaration, students face inwards toward instructor's station and a flat-screen monitor, or outwards to a bench with computer equipment.

Plazas
Rooms 212, 214 & 314

  • Capacity:
    • Plaza 212: 21 benches
    • Plaza 214: 21 benches
    • Plaza 314: 25 benches
  • Instrumented benches (I-benches) have standard electronic test equipment and can be adapted for particular experiments using modules of appropriate equipment.

Active Learning Centre
Room 313a & 313b

  • Capacity:
    • Side A: 50
    • Side B: 30
    • Both Sides: 80
  • The room can be split into two with a divider, or used as one large room.
  • Versatile space with moveable tables and chairs, whiteboards.

Non-classroom spaces

These spaces are bookable through the Student Services office.

Multimedia Room
Room 111

  • Capacity: 20
  • The room is designed for students to practice and conduct presentations. Equipped with data projection, video camera, VCR, network, DVD Recorder. This room has a removable wall that can be opened onto the hallway area for conference displays, or social events that include multimedia presentations.

First Year Studio
Room 315

  • This is a room for shared use by first-year activities such as project work and tutorials. Please contact the Student Services office for more information.

Atrium

  • Large open area, good for public speakers, social gatherings, end of term displays and competitions.
