Fees Deadlines: Fees deadlines are not listed in the Sessional Dates, and do not necessarily correspond with academic deadlines. Information on deadlines for dropping courses without financial penalty is contained in the Blue Book available from the Office of the University Registrar on the web at http://www.queensu.ca/registrar/bluebook/

Examination Rereading Deadlines: The attention of students is drawn to Regulation 13 concerning deadlines for making application to reread examination papers.

July 2005

15: Last day to apply for re-admission (for students required to withdraw)

August 2005

15: Minimum registration prepayment due: after this date late registration fee applies

15: Last day to cancel application for supplemental examinations without academic or financial penalty

29: QCARD is available to complete the final stages of registration process for students who have preregistered and made the minimum payment

29: First Day for returning students to pick up validation stickers after completing registration on QCARD (tentative)

September 2005

5: Orientation begins (arrival day)

5: Labour Day

6: Welcoming Ceremony for new students

6: Students may add and drop courses on QCARD

6-8: Supplemental Examinations

6-8: Challenge Examinations for First Year Students

7: First Year Students pick up timetable and Calendar, 9 -11 am

9: First Year Students receive photo-id card and validation sticker

12: Fall Term classes begin

15: Last day to apply to transfer from another faculty

23: Last day to register without extra fee. After this date, students must appeal in writing to the Operations Committee for permission to register late.

23: Last day to add a Fall Term or sessional course or to change from one engineering program to another engineering program

30: Deadline for payment of balance of tuition fees without incurring interest charges

October 2005

10: Thanksgiving Day (classes will not be held)

15: Last day to apply for admission to upper year courses at the International Study Centre for Winter Term

16: University Day

28: Fall Convocation

November 2005

1: Additional late fees apply after this date which is when the university reports registration numbers to the government

4: Last day to withdraw voluntarily from Fall Term courses

11: Remembrance Day Services (classes cancelled 10:30-11:30 a.m.)

December 2005

1: Last day to apply for admission to Dual Degree Program for next Winter Term

2: Fall Term classes end

3: Pre-exam Study Period begins

6: Commemoration Day

6: Pre-exam Study Period ends

7: Fall Term final examinations begin

21: Final examinations end

21: Fall Term ends

January 2006

9: Winter Term classes begin

9: Last day to register without financial penalty for students not registered in any other courses

9: Students unable to register for the winter term by this date must appeal in writing to the Operations Committee and pay a registration administration fee

15: Last day to apply to the International Programs office for exchange programs for 2006-2007

16: Extended Program classes begin

20: Last day to add a Winter Term course or to change an academic program

20: Last day to withdraw from sessional course

23: Discipline Orientation begins

27: Last day to apply to rewrite a first year Fall Term examination

27: Last day to add a Fall Term Extended Program course

30: Last day to drop a Fall Term Extended Program course or to cancel, without academic penalty, application to rewrite a First Year Fall Term examination.

30: Last day to withdraw from program without failure of year

23: Last day for students in the regular First Year program to register to rewrite the exam in second term courses of the first year

2: Last day to pay administrative fee for rewrite exams in second term courses of the First Year written in a location other than Kingston

9: Classes for Extended First Year end

9: Last day to withdraw from rewrite exams of second term courses of the First year
