Emphasis on Engineering

This program is aimed at students between grades 7 and 8 as well as 11 and 12, allowing youth to experience some of the challenge and reward of being a professional Engineer. There are three formats. All workshops are taught by Queen's Engineering students.

Annually in October: this event is aimed at girls in grades 7 – 10 and their parents. The girls participate in engaging, hands-on design activities led by Engineering students from Queen's and RMC while the parents learn about the Queen's Faculty of Engineering and how to support their daughters for academic success.

Take Our Kids to Work Day
Take Our Kids to Work Day

Annually in November: this program is aimed at grade 9 students and takes place during the annual Take Our Kids to Work Day. Initially created to accommodate the children of Queen's employees, this event has expanded in recent years to invite any Grade 9 youth in Kingston who would like to spend the day learning about Engineering as a career possibility.

Engineer for a Year

This program partners engineering students in classrooms with teachers to help children gain a more accurate and detailed understanding of the Engineering profession, and to support teachers in their STEM programming.
