Queen’s University is pleased to host the First Annual Competency Based Assessment (CBA) Symposium on the beautiful Queen’s campus in Kingston, Ontario.
This In-Person event features an intensive exploration of competency-based assessment for engineering education in Canada and a guided workshop for converting courses to use competency-based assessment. The symposium is intended both for those who are familiar with CBA and those who are new to the area. The Thursday evening session will provide an introduction for those who are less familiar with CBA as well as establishing context for the full day Friday workshop. It will be possible to attend Thursday evening either virtually or in person, but Friday is fully in person.
We welcome our francophone colleagues to the conference. Sessions will be delivered in English, with every effort being made to ensure the availability of a bilingual group facilitator for working group activities.
Book before May 1 at the Donald Gordon Hotel and Conference Centre and get the Special Queen's Room Rate ($165 + tax). Call the Centre at 1-866-455-2655 and quote GROUP #69535 at the time of booking.
In the spirit of Engineering Education Research Community events, all efforts have been made to focus on making the event as accessible as possible - pre and post event social mingles are free entry with participant choice in terms of purchasing food and drink. Lunch will be included in the registration fee.
