New Teaching and Learning Lab

What is information literacy and what is its current place in engineering education? In order to answer these questions it is useful to review the development of information literacy in the engineering curriculum over the past 100 years. Beginning in the late 1800s, this brief talk will highlight some of the issues, opportunities and challenges that have marked and shaped how engineering faculty and librarians view information literacy and use information resources to support teaching and learning. The role of technical societies and accrediting organizations will also be discussed.
