Fall 2019

August 31: Orientation begins (arrival day)

August 31: University Welcoming Ceremony for new students

September 1: Tuition payment or Alternate Payment Arrangement (APA) due

September 1-2: Engineering Frosh Week begins

September 4: FEAS Welcome at the ARC gym 7:30-9:30 pm

September 5: Fall term classes begin

September 18: Last day to drop a Fall or Fall-Winter course without financial penalty

October 10: Thanksgiving make-up day, most first-year labs rescheduled for this evening

October 24-25: Fall Term Break

November 1: Last day to drop a Fall term course without academic penalty

November 29: Fall term classes end

November 30: Fall term pre-examination study period begins

December 2: Make-up day for Thanksgiving Holiday

December 3: Fall term pre-examination study period

December 4-19: Final examination period

NOTE: students should avoid making personal plans that fall within the official exam periods (refer to the sessional dates for the official exam periods). Until the final exam schedule is published (the Friday before Thanksgiving for fall term and Family Day for winter term) it should be assumed that exams could be scheduled any time from the first to the last day of the official period. Students will not be granted consideration for any personal plans (travel, etc.) made in conflict with their exam schedule. Section 8.4 of the Academic Regulations states that personal plans do not qualify as extenuating circumstances. 

Winter 2020

January 6: Winter term classes begin

January 13: Last day to apply for a first-year Fall course rewrite examination

January 13: Extended Program (J-Section) Fall classes begin

January 17: Last day to drop a Winter term course without financial penalty

January 17: Last day to drop a Fall-Winter course without academic penalty

January 21: First-year program Orientation Nights begin

February 3-21: First-year program selection in SOLUS

February 20-24: Mid-term Reading Week (including Family Day)

February 21-24: Extended Program course examinations

February 27: Extended Program Winter classes begin

February 28: Last day to drop a Winter term course without academic penalty

April 3: Winter term classes end

April 4-8: Winter term pre-examination study period

April 9-25: Final examination period
