Dr. Kevin Deluzio appointed Head, Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering

Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic), Alan Harrison, is pleased to announce that Dr. Kevin Deluzio has been appointed Head of the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering effective July 1, 2014. 

Kevin DeluzioDr. Deluzio joined the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering in July 2006. Prior to Queen’s, Dr. Deluzio was one of the founding members of the School of Biomedical Engineering at Dalhousie University with a cross appointment to the Dept. of Surgery. His research focuses on the investigation of biomechanical factors of knee osteoarthritis and its treatment. Dr. Deluzio has established a state of the art motion capture laboratory in Hotel Dieu Hospital as part of the Human Mobility Research Centre. He has published over 175 papers and abstracts in a variety of refereed journals and proceedings, and has served as a consultant to companies in the orthopaedic industry.  He has served on the executive of the Canadian Society for Biomechanics, as president of the Canadian Orthopaedic Research Society, and on national grant review panels. Dr. Deluzio has been the recipient of departmental and faculty level teaching awards.
