Posted on March 30, 2015

Queen’s Engineering staff and students welcomed Magna International representatives, Soeren Striepe, Senior Manager, Corporate Engineering and R&D (Aurora), Jim Byrne II, Core Product Manager (Troy, MI) and Christoph Prockl, Engineering Lead Global Commodity (Germany) to campus on Monday March 23.

In September of 2013, Magna partnered with Queen’s University to develop innovators and leaders for the twenty-first century through the TEAM program with a generous gift of $500,000 over four years.

The interdisciplinary TEAM program offers students in Engineering, Business, Arts & Science and Law, the opportunity to work together to solve real industry problems.  Approximately one hundred upper year students, from across faculties and disciplines, participate each year, working in teams on projects provided by industry partners.

While on campus, the representatives enjoyed a TEAM presentation, tours of the ILC and lab facilities, a research presentation from Dr. Il Yong Kim, and meetings with both Dean Kimberly Woodhouse and Vice-Dean Brian Surgenor.
