There are six million infant deaths each year with 46 percent of these coming from Africa alone. That's more than 7,500 per day. 315 per hour and five per minute.

Most of these deaths are caused by diseases or illnesses that are completely curable or avoidable, like measles, pneumonia and malnutrition. Infant mortality has decreased because people have chosen to take initiative and make change.

Now, you can be a part of the solution. Introducing GBEC's Design for Life Challenge targeting child mortality and morbidity in developing countries.

Come join QBIT and EWB on March 25th for a day of guest speakers, innovative design, and a chance to win $1,000 toward your big idea.
