VIDEO: Queens Summer Engineering Academy - Jr. Girls program

Posted on May 18, 2018

There is still a wide gender imbalance in the engineering profession and so we are committed to getting as many girls as possible engaged and enthusiastic about STEM subjects while they’re still in primary or secondary school. So, this year we’re offering a special QSEA Jr session just for girls. The program and activities are the same as in our co-educational sessions, but in QSEA Jr Girls, your daughter will have a deliberate early chance to interact with accomplished women in STEM and to spend time with other girls in her age group who have similar interests in engineering and science.

QSEA Jr is way for students in Grades 8 and 9 to get their very first tastes of engineering and university life. It’s a week-long commuter or residence program on campus at Queen’s University led by female undergraduate engineering students.

Your child will get a broad overview of engineering that includes exposure to learning and research facilities at the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, and work on interesting projects designed specially to inform and engage.

Learn more about QSEA Jr. Girls and all our Connections: Queen’s Summer Engineering Academy programs on our website. It’s an early investment in your child’s future.
