Queen’s Engineering supports alumni venture, Engineers of Tomorrow, to engage youth in STEM

Posted on December 10, 2020

The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Engineers of Tomorrow, a venture founded by Queen’s Engineering alumni Rebecca White (Sc’01) and Erica Lee Garcia (Sc'00).

Bridging the gap between “the real world and classroom theory,” Engineers of Tomorrow has developed an Engineer in Residence program which matches professional engineers with local classrooms for terms that allow for career inspiration featuring hands-on STEM experiences. It is available free of charge to schools across Ontario.

It also offers corporate training and online Lunch & Learn sessions.

White and Garcia are recipients of a 125th Anniversary Engineering Excellence Award, presented in 2019 to select alumni upon the quasquicentennial of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.
