precommencement celebration

The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science has planned a month-long series of celebrations to recognize its most recent graduates and bring them together virtually with their family, professors, peers and alumni.

As was the case last year, Queen’s University is unable to host commencement ceremonies this summer, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Though the university is committed to providing graduates a ceremony when it is feasible, it is important for the Queen’s Engineering community to celebrate the moment to the best of our ability in the present.

“We know how important commencement is, and we also know how hard our students have worked for their degree,” says Dean Kevin Deluzio. “We want to let them know how proud we are of them.”

To ensure that graduates are properly celebrated, FEAS will be hosting a ‘Pre-Commencement Celebration’ site featuring a virtual reception on June 24 and other engaging activities that will take place over the entire month of June.

Students are invited to attend the Virtual Reception and After-Party, post a 5-word speech, hear messages from faculty members, send and receive gift grams, search the graduate directory and more.
