Students of MECH 212, a second-year course in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, are trained in the use of machine tools which by definition requires active participation in the McLaughlin Hall Machine Shop, a department lab.
The staff and faculty of the department worked to ensure proper COVID-related safety guidelines were met in order to facilitate these lab meetings. On this day, students arrived in groups of three to assemble the various pieces they’d produced throughout the term.
