Corrosion-Logo.pngIt’s been a successful and exciting year for graduate students in the Queen’s Corrosion Group led by Prof. Suraj Persaud. Students have presented oral and poster presentations at national and international conferences, with audiences of academic and industry experts in the nuclear and corrosion fields. The presentations have all been well received, and during this time, several student awards were won:

  • E. Jervis Award to Hooman Gholamzadeh, for excellence in research and development carried out by a full time graduate student in nuclear engineering or related fields, at the 2022 CNS (Canadian Nuclear Society) Conference.
  • Shared 1st Place Poster Presentation Award to Hooman Gholamzadeh for best PhD submission at the 2022 CNS Conference.
  • Shared 1st Place Poster Presentation Award to Victor (Udo) Okoro for best PhD submission at the 2022 CNS Conference.
  • 1st Place Poster Presentation Award to Yasaman Ghaffari at the NACE SOSS (National Association of Corrosion Engineers Southern Ontario Student Section) 12th Annual Student Symposium.
  • 3rd Place Poster Presentation Award to Hooman Gholamzadeh at The NACE SOSS 12th Annual Student Symposium.
  • 1st Place Poster Presentation Award to Yasaman Ghaffari at the UNENE (University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering) 2022 R&D Workshop
  • 1st Place Oral Presentation Award to Hooman Gholamzadeh at the UNENE (University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering) 2022 R&D Workshop
  • Dennis B. Dutton Award to Victor (Udo) Okoro, for Student Leadership Excellence, at the 2023 AMPP (Association for Materials Protection and Performance) Conference.
