In addition to the technical research conducted under our research themes, FEAS researchers lead engineering education research in interdisciplinary teaching, group dynamics, student evaluations of teaching, women in engineering, creativity, engineering in K-12 education, educational technology, post-secondary transfer, and performance assessment.

FEAS engineering education researchers have received a number of accolades for their work, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Canada Outstanding Engineering Educator Award. A faculty researcher currently holds the DuPont Canada Chair in Engineering Education Research and Development, and another has been a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Chair in Design Engineering. One member has been president of the Canadian Engineering Education Association
(CEEA).

Members of this group have also been active with and have presented at international and national engineering education conferences. They have published in a number of academic journals, including the European Journal of Engineering Education, the Australasian Journal of Engineering Education, Assessment and Evaluation in Higher Education, Canadian Public Policy, and the Canadian Journal for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

The group’s activities have been funded by NSERC, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), the Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer (ONCAT), the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario (HEQCO), institutional grants, and an endowed chair from DuPont Canada.
