Mitchell Hall Room 215/225/235
Active Learning Classrooms

Designed to promote working collaboratively, students share their work on displays located at their tables via HDMI-input. With a combined capacity of 240 students, the room may also be sub-divided into a 80+160 student configuration with two concurrent classes, or it may operate as three concurrent classes of 80 students each.

Configured in microphone-enabled tables of 8 students (groups of 8 or groups of 4), each room is equipped with a document camera, a whiteboard PTZ camera, a 100” display, and whiteboards lining the walls. Instructors have access to a podium with a built-in desktop computer, an interactive LCD touch screen controller, a preview monitor, an ethernet jack and VGA/HDMI input connectivity for the instructor’s device (wireless input also available via AirMedia app). The system is lecture capture-enabled. Hand-held or lavalier wireless microphone is available for the instructor.

To discuss the capabilities of the technology and to design learning activities that best make use of the unique potential of the space, contact the Engineering Teaching and Learning Team in Dupuis Hall G25 (ext. 74871 or ETLT@queensu.ca).
